Cleveland, OH
Enviro-Fix Solutions, LLC, a joint venture (JV) between Perma-Fix and ECC of Burlingame, CA, was awarded a $13.4 million, 3-year contract by the Buffalo District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for environmental remediation and waste management services at the Former Harshaw Chemical Company Site in Cleveland, Ohio.
In 1974, the Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) was launched to identify, study, and remediate or control sites involved in the early atomic energy and weapons programs in the United States. In 2021, actions were undertaken to address FUSRAP-related soil contamination at the Harshaw Site. As a 45% owner of Enviro-Fix, Perma-Fix plays a critical role in FUSRAP and the environmental restoration efforts in Northeast Ohio.
Enviro-Fix Solutions, LLC, combines ECC's unparalleled construction and remediation experience with Perma-Fix's remediation, waste management, and radiological services expertise, creating a powerhouse in remedial action.
The safety of each staff member and the surrounding community at the Harshaw Chemical Site is the top priority for Enviro-Fix and the USACE. Through ongoing communication, thorough evaluation, and strict accountability, this project has remained incident-free.
